Every MapVS map is made of three moving parts you'll see repeatedly. Learning them once means the rest of the app makes sense at a glance.
Stages
Each rectangle on the canvas is a stage - a unit of work in the process. Stages have a name, a work type (Valuable / Incidental / Waste), and time values. Right-click a stage to edit its data box; drag to reorder.
The timeline strip
The stepped line under the flow shows cycle time (up) against wait time (down). Long down-strokes are the ugly bit - queues, handoffs, decisions sitting in someone's inbox. That's your improvement runway.
Data boxes
Under each stage, the data box shows CT (Cycle Time), WT (Wait Time), and optionally ST (Standard Time), OEE, Availability, and Yield. On the Pro plan you'll also see Operators, Batch Size, and per-station shift calendar.
The analytics overlay
Toggle the Analytics tab on the right rail to see PCE, total lead time, VA time vs NVA time, and bottleneck highlights auto-calculated across every stage. Nothing to configure - it updates every time you change a value.
