Most real factories don't run one product - they run three, or ten, or fifty. Variant flows let you map them together on one map without duplicating the shared stages.
Configure variants
- Open the map settings. Tick Multi-product map.
- Define your variants (name + colour). Each stage can now be marked as "used by" a subset of variants.
- For each stage, tick which variants pass through it.
What you see
The canvas colour-codes stages by variant coverage. Diverging paths show as split arrows. Bottleneck stages that serve multiple variants get a stack indicator (queue length per variant).
Simulation
DES respects variant flows - each variant has its own arrival rate and only queues at stages it uses. This is a big deal for accurately modelling contention at shared machines.
