An overlay shows two or more maps aligned by stage name so you can see them layered on the same canvas. Useful for comparing across product families, sites, or shifts.
When to use it
- You have three sites running the same process and want to see whose queue is worst.
- You have a family of variant products and want to spot the divergent stages.
- You want a current vs future state comparison animated together.
Build one
- Open Overlays from the sidebar.
- Pick two or more maps that share a common backbone (same or similar stage names).
- MapVS auto-aligns stages by fuzzy name match. You can manually re-align any pair.
- The combined view highlights where stages align (green), diverge (amber), or only exist in one map (grey).
