NFC-triggered recording

Updated just now · 9 views ·

NFC-triggered recording is for factory floors and hospital wards where workers move station-to-station carrying an iPhone. Scan a tag, and the step for that station starts (or stops) automatically.

Set it up

  1. Buy NFC tags (any standard NTAG213 sticker works, ~$0.50 each).
  2. On the iPhone app, open the stage in your map and tap Add NFC trigger.
  3. Choose "start" or "end", then scan the tag. MapVS records the tag UID and binds it to the stage.
  4. Stick the tag at the station.

Record with tags

Walk the process. When you scan the "start" tag for a station, the step timer starts. When you scan its "end" tag (or the next station's "start" tag), the step stops. No screens to look at, no buttons to hit.

Requires

iPhone 8 or later, iOS 16+, and the MapVS iPhone app in the foreground or background.
