MapVS rate-limits API requests to keep the service stable for everyone. Limits are per API key.
Default limits
- Pro: 60 requests per minute, 5,000 per day.
- Team: 120 requests per minute, 20,000 per day.
- Enterprise: custom - contact us.
Inspect the headers
Every response includes X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, and X-RateLimit-Reset. Use them to pace your client - don't wait for a 429.
When you hit 429
Back off exponentially - wait 1s, then 2s, then 4s, up to 60s. Retrying immediately on 429 will get your key temporarily blocked. The response body includes the number of seconds to wait.
